Katie is 3!

Wait, what? I can't believe I have a 3 year old! Crazy! She is a challenge and a joy to have in our lives. We celebrated by having some friends over for a small birthday party. We made her a flower shaped cake and Chris frosted it. What a guy! It turned out pretty good considering neither of us have any experience really with making cakes. We did green because pink gets boring after awhile. She got a lot of gifts. She got a new ball to throw around, new movies to watch, a teacup set (which she loves), so play doe with scissors (which makes it much more exciting), two new dolls and a suitcase from her Aunt Laurel, so she can load all of her stuff in (aka blankets and dolls) when she goes to her house to play. It even came complete with a handle and set of wheels. Perfect! Now I just have to train her to pack it up and push it "All by herself" instead of me.

I had to get pictures and a video of singing to her and blowing her candles out. Her blowing was slightly more of a saliva blow, but that is improvement from last year since she spit water on her cake because she didn't swallow her drink that we had given her. Progress! Maybe next year she will have more of a grasp on a few things. She is just barely starting to figure out what the holidays are all about. She truly lives in her own world most of the time and doesn't have a care in the world.

Enjoy the video and pics!

Loves to lick the beaters...what kid doesn't?

Waiting to blow them out a second time...we practiced a few times beforehand.

So proud of herself for blowing them out!
