Houston, we have progress!

Katie is finally crawling! She will still army crawl when she want to go fast, but she finally figured out how to get on her knees and hands. Yea! She is starting to pull herself up on furniture or the stairs. She isn't walking around any of it yet, she will just pull herself up into a standing position, but it is fun to watch her. In the last two weeks she has made a lot of progress with everything. This morning I was doing the dishes and turned around to walk into the living room, and Katie had climbed up 6 stairs! She has only been able to go up two stairs this last week and then all of sudden she is half way up the stair case. Yikes! I'm just glad she didn't go tumbling down before I noticed where she was. Looks like it is time to by a gate and gate the stairs.

Katie has also improved with her happiness. I had a hard time getting anything done because anytime I left the room she would cry until I came back in. She knew how to army crawl and was capable of following me, but she just wouldn't do it. She also would cry when I would vacuum, so unless Chris was home it was hard to vacuum. She loved it if she was being held, but she was too heavy. Now she loves the vacuum. She will just follow me around the house now and just watches the vacuum. I'm so glad that has passed. It was really annoying and frustrating most of the time.

Katie loves playing in the dishwasher. If I'm doing the dishes, she is always right by feet watching what I am doing or she will play with the dishes in the dishwasher. She loves to chase Libby around the house and sometimes will cry when Libby sits in a place that Katie can't reach. It is pretty funny. I love the fact that Katie is so entertained by this activity. Katie also loves to be chased. She thinks it is hilarious. She will crawl as fast as she can, turn around to see how close we are to her, laugh, then turn around and go fast again. This can go on for a long time and she loves it. She also loves to her loofa(?), you know the poofy thing you put soap on in the shower. She carries it everywhere she goes. When she army crawls, she keeps it tuck under arm so she can travel with it. If it leaves that spot, she will stop, turn around and pick it up, and then go back to crawling with her loofa in tow. Who would have thought a loofa would be such an entertaining toy. She also likes to play peek-a-boo as well.

We are currently in the process of taking one bottle and her formula away from her. So far she is doing really well and doesn't seem to mind regular milk from her cup. She seems to be out of sight, out of mind with her bottles, so hopefully this weaning process won't be too horrible.

Katie is 11 months now and growing and progressing like crazy and it is so much fun to watch.

I told you it would happen in due time! She is so sweet, but now you'll get to meet the terror of child proofing everything!

I love hearing about her progress because we can't SEE it in Action! She is getting so big! The weaning process is SOO MUCH EASIER than everyone makes it sound. We just took all the bottles away and you would never have guess he even had one! It was great! :)
